The Energy Smackdown challenges the notion that saving energy is boring and mundane by turning it into a fun, entertaining, and highly effective competition. We provide a creative and engaging program so you can focus on the business at hand, growing participation and getting great results.<br/>

The BrainShift Foundation's turnkey solution includes a game framework, tested tools, and expert coaching. It is simple and powerful but also flexible enough to incorporate what you organization has already developed.

It is organized around two familiar metaphors: a journey and a game.
<ul>
<li>The Journey: As households, organizations, and teams, you are travelers on a journey. You have a virtual travel bag and keep a virtual journal. Along your journey you collect energy saving "nuggets," which are carbon-reduction actions that lead you to higher levels of energy efficiency.</li>
<li>The Game: There are four increasingly difficult levels of energy conservation that a household or organization can achieve. Each of the four game levels has its' own set of required and optional nuggets. To reach a higher level, you must complete that level's required nuggets.</li>

<li>Level 1 (collecting nuggets) is about signing up and collecting nuggets, as many as you want. 
<li>Level 2 (proving reduction) is about proving your energy savings by creating a baseline of the prior year's energy consumption and then logging energy consumption in at least two of five areas at regular monthly intervals. 
<li>Level 3 (demonstrating mastery) is about demonstrating mastery in at least one category of energy reduction: household, travel, waste, food, or community. 
<li>Level 4 (moving the community) is about influencing others to save energy and reduce their emissions.
